Surinamazing Environ focuses on the preservation and protection of Nature as well as a clean and healthy environment.

Preservation and protection of nature

The key to preservation and pretection of nature in a Suriname, where more than 80% of the country is covered in pristine Guiana Shield rainforest, is a manifold approach involving:
  • Raising awareness regarding the importance of:
    • the preservation of the rainforest in general, preservation of the Guiana Shield rainforest and preservation of the rainforests of Suriname in particular;
    • using ecologicaly responsible and environment friendly methods for forestry, mining, industry, agriculture, gardening and housekeeping;
  • Developing means of financial income for the country, the Surinamese population and the inhabitants of the rainforest and surrounding areas;
  • Conducting research to support the points above.
